Plans by the Malawian government to have its own fertilizer processing company has been shattered following the abandonment of the project by A Taiwanese government firm.
The abandonment follows Malawi government’s stand to establish a new diplomatic relationship with Mainland China and sever ties with its sister nation Taiwan.
Malawi government early this year decided to end a 42 year diplomatic tie with Taiwan accusing the island nation of sponsoring Malawi’s opposition political parties to remove president Bingu wa Mutharika from office.
However, this allegation was vehemently denied by Taiwan.
Following this the Central African government announced that it no longer acknowledges Taiwan as a country but an island inside mainland China.
Later on, several Taiwanese working in Malawi started leaving one by one with their families back to their home country.
The fertilizer manufacturing company was among the major projects the Taiwanese government embarked on last year in Malawi.
Other projects include construction of new parliament buildings in the capital Lilongwe, construction of Chitipa-Karonga road, Rainbow Clinic at Mzuzu Central Hospital and providing funding and technical expertise to government technical colleges.

It is good that finally wisdom kicked in and they left this rotting nation and rotting continent.
It is a matter of time before even South Africa joins the ranks of countries like Zimbabwe and Somalia and completing the total rot of this hopeless continent of miserable race.
